ALISSA JESSUP is a director, actor, and writer with over 15 years experience working in theater, film and television.  She teaches and coaches actors and filmmakers (directors, writers,producers) individually and in group settings to hone their own process and craft of storytelling and how to collaborate effectively.  

Founder and Artistic Director of The Ape Theater, a non profit comedy based theater and training ground in Portland, OR. Alissa teaches and coaches 

As an actor, she has performed and developed new plays with acclaimed theaters such as Sundance Theatre Lab, P.S. 122 and Playwrights Horizons. Selected TV credits include upcoming, SHRILL(Hulu)  starring Aidy Bryant,  TRUE BLOOD (HBO),    THE MINDY PROJECT (FOX), and GRIMM (NBC).

She has written and performed comedy at The Upright Citizens Brigade NYC and The Groundlings Theatre in Los Angeles,

As a filmmaker she founded Growly Pictures to create content made for women, by women. She wrote, directed and stars in Chickadee’, a comedic short film made with all female cast and crew and chosen as one of Indie Wire’s top 5 crowdfunding picks (2015)

Alissa is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, Film Fatales PDX and The Couch Collective, and an original member of Printer’s Devil Theater.
